Raft Cove Provincial Park, , BC Description of Raft Cove Provincial Park: Wilderness camping on the beach is popular at this park, as is surfing, fishing and hiking. During low tides, long shore walks over rock and beach can be made north or south of Raft Cove, at the edge of the pounding Pacific surf. Access to the beach from the road is via a rugged 2-km route that cuts through coastal old-growth forest of hemlock, western red cedar and Sitka spruce. This unmaintained route has some challenging sections and is extremely muddy in areas. Wilderness, backcountry (beach) or walk-in camping is allowed, but no facilities other than simple pit toilets and food caches are provided. There is no camping fee. Roberts Creek Provincial Park (Swens Contracting), Sechelt, BC Description of Roberts Creek Provincial Park (Swens Contracting): This park is separated into a separate campground and day use area and is located 14 km west of Gibsons and 12 km south of Sechelt. The camping area is located in forest of large cedars, Douglas fir and Hemlock trees. At low tide the cobblestone ocean beach at the picnic area is a good viewing area for sea stars, mussels and oysters or for watching whales, seals and ducks (in winter) offshore. There is tidal fishing available for salmon and cod. This park offers vehicle accessible campsites on a first-come, first-served basis - campsite reservations are not accepted. There are 21 gravel sites, one of which is a double site. There are no pull-through sites. There is limited parking for extra vehicles.
